Thanks for the link. I've been subconsciously aware of the 3+3+2 pattern, so it's interesting to see a name assigned to it.

A variation of that pattern I've noticed can be heard in the keyboard intro of Bon Jovi's Runaway. In this case, the instrument is playing straight 8th notes, but the chord changes every 3rd note, so it's easy for you ear to be fooled into thinking it's hearing triplets. In fact, when writing this piece I'd come across another article that used Runaway as an example of triplets in a rock song. I listened to it a bunch of times, and determined "nope, that's straight 8th notes".
