I’d noticed an interesting exonym when I was living in Boulder, Colorado,. By now, enough people have learned that Louisville (as in, Kentucky) is pronounced more like “Loo uh vil”. However, there is also a Louisville, Colorado just outside of Boulder. Most out-of-towners would insist on pronouncing it like they would in Kentucky, when in reality, anyone from Colorado knew that it was simply pronounced “Loo iss vil”.
